Family Storytelling Evening

As a culmination to our storytelling artist-in-residency with Jeff Stockton, we are holding a special family night on Thursday, December 5 from 6:00-7:30pm.

On this evening, we will start off together in the gym listening to Jeff tell us a story and then set us up for a storytelling scavenger hunt. After this, families will be given 15-20 minutes to move throughout the school and gather story elements. Finally, families will take these ideas, curl up together somewhere throughout the school, and create their very own original family story. We hope that families will leave with this story that they can tell over and over again building traditions of oral storytelling.

Additional Information:

- Students must attend this event with an adult family member.

- Please enter the building at the doors closest to the gym.

- Please give your shoes/ boots an extra wipe and keep your footwear on for the evening.

- Please park on the streets surrounding our school or think about walking. The parking lot is for staff parking only.

- We may not have quite enough seating in the gym for all families, so please be prepared that some families may need to sit on the floor.

- When leaving the gym to begin the storytelling event, please take your coats with you and hang them on your child's coathook or classroom chair.

- Please consider bringning along a donation for the Food Bank to add to our Silver Springs School Food Bank Drive.

We are looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow evening.
