Remembrance Day Assembly - November 10

This week, we commemorate Remembrance Day during our school assembly on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 10:45 am.

We invite families to gather together this year, to remember the sacrifices of the past and honour those who fought for our country so that we have a brighter future. Seating for students and families will begin at 10:30am.

Thank you to those families who joined us on Thursday morning for a stunning Remembrance Day assembly. We are so proud of our students and staff for their hard work in preparing for this ceremony. A solemn and respectful tone was set from the start with the soft candle lighting. Our students entered the gym to sit in circle as the grade 5/ 6 students played Amazing Grace on the xylophones and recorders. Many thanks to Mrs. Blenkhorne, Mrs. Currie and her grade 5/6 students, Mme. Downey and her grade 3/ 4 class, and Mrs. Ballinger with her grade 1/ 2 students for leading us in this time of remembrance and reflection. Each grade group sang beautiful songs of peace and love. We were also presented with information and student reflections related to the importance of Remembrance Day, as well as lovely, memorized poems. A sense of belonging and heartfelt emotions were palpable in our gym that morning.
